I am writing to make sure you are aware that the Department of History at the University of New Mexico is currently conducting a search for an Assistant Professor of Modern Mexican History: applications are due this November 15, and employment will begin August 2018. I would be grateful if you would draw the opening to the attention of colleagues and program graduates to the opening, particularly of those whose experience matches the preferred qualifications indicated in the job ad:

Minimum qualification: (1) PhD in History, or a related discipline, with significant training in modern Mexican history by date of appointment.

Preferred qualifications: (1) a record of publication or commitment to publish within the field of modern Mexican History; (2) teaching experience at the university or college level including demonstrable ability to teach upper-division courses in 20th – 21st century Mexican History, the second half of the Latin American History survey (1822-present), and courses in the Latin American Studies or International Studies program (3) demonstrable ability to mentor undergraduates and graduate students at the MA and PhD levels. (4) Demonstrable commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion and student success, as well as ability to work with broadly diverse communities.
