4th Southern Hemisphere Economic History Summer School
Montevideo, 9-13 December, 2013
 
A joint venture with the universities of Barcelona, Stellenbosch (South Africa) and Wageningen (Netherlands) allows in this occasion the Economic History Program, Universidad de la República, Uruguay, to announce the 4th Southern Hemisphere Economic History Summer School (SHEHSS IV).
 
In this occasion the SHEHSS IV is willing to attract postgraduate students working on the economic history of developing regions, particularly of Africa and Latin America, in order to stimulate comparative studies.
 
We aim to gather together a group of 15-20 students, who will present their own research, discuss and comment other student´s papers, receive comments by invited scholars and attend a set of lectures.

Registration
Interested students have to send a message to phes@fcs.edu.uy, with the following details:
- Title and abstract of the paper/chapter/research project
- Short CV
- Institution where postgraduate studies are taking place
- Name of the supervisor
- Conditions to attend the meeting (airfare, lodging, etc.)
 
The deadline for the submission of applications is July 30, 2013, for foreign attendees. Students of Uruguayan programs have time until October 30.
 
The SHEHSS IV is not able to provide financial support to attend the meetings, but will arrange cheap and convenient accommodation in Montevideo for those attending the summer school.
